Mercedes CLA180 - An Elegant Car

Mercedes offers a four door stylish coupe which is based on the A-Class but a few inches longer than the C-Class sedan. In Mercedes CLA 180 technology completely takes over by the A-Class. For instance you will find four-cylinder engine in CLA portfolio.

 

Advantage & Disadvantage

Apparently the CLA leans against the CLS, however having generously huge dimensions compared to CLS it still looks a little plump. Mercedes CLA 180 is one of the stylish and powerful vehicles and despite of its amazing features the biggest disadvantage of CLA 180 is lies in its interior. The interior space is a little disappointing. Specifically the rear compartment has a very limited space by the deep drawn roofline.

 

Interior

In general the ride is pretty comfortable lack of space does not cause much discomfort. The suspension tuning of the CLA is much more comfortable than the cars of A-Class, however CLA cannot sustain in detail with the higher models of Mercedes. The interior although is amazingly comfortable with the high quality upholstery on the seat gives a very soft touch and higher level of comfort.

 

Engine Specification

The Mercedes CLA 180 gasoline engine is very efficient and economical with respect to the fuel consumption and just consumes half a liter less fuel than the Mercedes A-180. Here clearly the C-Class takes the lead with its majestic exterior and high performance engine that starts within seconds without making any noise. The urbane aerodynamics installed in the CLA 180 helps a lot in the better performance of the car without consuming much fuel.

 

Safety Scoring

Here comes a little drawback of CLA 180, although it is not at all a bad vehicle and can easily score more with its extended and highly updated safety features; CLA scores less than it expected. And this makes CLA simply an expensive car. However, there is no doubt that Mercedes CLA is a sophisticated and high-quality car in many details.

 

Fuel Consumption

As it is already clear that CLA has much better fuel economy than A-Class; the average fuel consumption of CLA 180 is 4.8 l / 100km at highway and 3.9 l / 100km in the city which makes the total average fuel consumption of 4.2 l / 100km at 110 g / km emission and Euro 6 standard.

 

Verdict

In a nutshell, Mercedes CLA 180 is an elegant car perfectly combined with comfortable interior as well as classy exterior however it also has some drawbacks which can be ignored by the highly efficient engine performance.
