Man TGX Review: Vehicle That Sets Mind At Ease
The traditional Bavarian company MAN has been one of the worlds leading manufacturers in the truck sector for decades. The T-Series is the heaviest truck series of MAN and impresses with its high performance, efficiency and high-quality equipment in terms of safety and interior design.
In 2007, the Man TGX came on the market; it was the predecessor model of TGA. The production of the TGA was then continued and the model equipped with the more powerful D26 engines and ESP. Only one year after the appearance of the TGX, it was awarded the Truck of the Year Award.
Engine Specification
The modernized cab has been aerodynamically designed to lower the CW value, at the same time, the noise level in the cab decreased by 30 percent and the weight by up to 120 kilograms. Combined with the new engines, fuel consumption was significantly reduced, as well as the emission of carbon dioxide and other pollutants.
However, the standard engines do not all meet the EU emission standard 6, why there is still some catching up to do here at MAN compared to equivalent models from other suppliers. In contrast to its predecessor TGA, the new version is at least three liters less thanks to the TGX Efficient Line.
Various types of Engines
The Man TGX for sale is available with various engines known as D20 and D26 common rail engines (Euro 6). The power varies from 265 kW (360 hp) to 500 kW (680 hp) and a displacement of 10,518 to 16,162 cubic centimeters. With the help of the common rail the double turbocharger provides a strong the performance with increasing speed, whereby the maximum torque is reached however already with low tours. The diesel engines are available either as in-line 6-cylinders or V8-cylinders. A braking power of 600 kW, particularly high performance on unpaved roads, is achieved with the primary retarder MAN PriTarder.
Suitable for Every Application
Wheel and axle distribution is available in many variants and all possible combinations from 4x2 to 8x8. Thus, the use is secured for each area and also on construction sites and rough terrain; the TGX is reliable in its work.
The permissible total weight of the TGX varies between 18 and 41 tonnes, depending on the length. A reduced curb weight allowed the payload to be increased. Cabs have the choice between XL, XLX and XXL - all designed for long-distance service - and each cabin features an ergonomic cockpit with glare-free display to enhance driver comfort. Man TGX price is fairly competitive.
