Good prices, lush standard equipment, generous space, with these qualities tried especially the limousine Hyundai Elantra to score sales a big time, which came in 1991 into the markets. Five years later, the program in this vehicle class was complemented by a station wagon.

Name Change

The third generation of the Lantra was launched in 2000 by Hyundai under the name Elantra on the market. The reason for the name change was name-legal objections of Lotus, who saw their model name Elan in danger. The first generation of the Elantra was characterized above all by its reliability. In 2010, the South Koreans launched the third generation of the Elantra.

As A Slanted and Notchback Sedan

Since the launch of the second generation of the Hyundai Lantra in 1995, the manufacturer has had a combined version of its mid-range model. With the generational and name change of the year 2000, the station wagon introduced under the name Hyundai Lantra in Europe initially remained in the program. Under the new name Hyundai Elantra only the sedans were sold. However, where two body styles were available: So the Hyundai Elantra was offered as a hatchback and notchback sedan with a length of up to 4.52 meters, a width of about 1.72 meters and a wheelbase of 2.61 meters the Hyundai Elantra was in its class as a generously sized five-seater.

Engine Specifications

The Hyundai Elantra was available in Europe in three engine variants as diesel and gasoline. Entry-level model was the Hyundai Elantra with a 1.6-liter petrol engine, which provided the saloon up to 77 kW (107 hp). In the 2.0-liter capacity class, the South Koreans offered the Hyundai Elantra as a gasoline engine with up to 105 kW (143 hp) and as a diesel with a maximum output of 83 kW (113 hp).

Not Cheap nor Exotic

It was pretty clear from the start of this model that something like that would not work so easily. It starts with the fact that the Elantra is not exactly a very exotic car apparently and honestly Elantra does not have to be, because Hyundai consumers are obviously gives more important to the value of the car. So it is clear that this car is only for the more mature drivers, young people will find this car pretty boring than Charismatic.

Fuel Consumption

The fuel consumption of Hyundai Elantra is not much impressive as the six-speed auto model achieve the combined fuel consumption of 29 mpg.
