Daewoo Lacetti - Spacious And Roomy Car

The Daewoo Lacetti is categorized as a compact car produced by the South Korean automaker GM Daewoo. It was first released in 2002.
The first generation Daewoo Lacetti was available for sale in three different body styles such as four-door sedan, a five-door station wagon and a five-door hatchback. Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the hatchback and Pininfarina designed the sedan and wagon. In 2004, Daewoo released the hatchback that was known as Lacetti5 in South Korea.


The second generation Daewoo Lacetti also known as Lacetti Premiere was released in 2008. It was co created by the Chevrolet and the GM Daewoo.


FIRST GENERATION OF DAEWOO LACETTI

The first generation Lacetti was produced in three different body styles such as five-door hatchback, five-door wagon and four-door sedan.
The hatchback had a unique interior and exterior design than the sedan while the wagon had a very unique combination of interior and exterior designing. It had an interior design of a hatchback and an exterior design of a sedan.


The hatchback featured a different exterior and interior design than the sedan, whereas the wagon had the exterior design of the sedan and the interior of the hatchback. In 2008, the sedan was modified with the new styling on the front of the hatchback. The model with this modification was manufactured in some countries like India, Colombia, Colombia and Thailand.


MARKETING AND PRODUCTION

SOUTH KOREA

 The four-door sedan was launched in South Korea in 2002. The five-door hatch back was released after the 2004 modification of the sedan it had a new front grill. The wagon version was launched in 2007 in South Korea. It was the time when the GM Daewoo launched the Lacetti range with VM Motori diesel engines.
In 2008, the production of sedan and wagon models was stopped, with only one body style hatchback was remained in production with the label Lacetti EX. It was too ceased to be produced after 2009.


AUSTRALIA

Daewoo Lacetti was available in Australia during 2003 and 2004. It was available for sale as a four-door sedan. The Lacetti as sedan and wagon were sold as Holden viva in 2005 and latter in 2009 an all new Holden Cruz was released that led to the end of the viva’s sale.


CANADA

In Canada it was sold as the Chevrolet Optra. It was offered in two models such as an Optra Wagon and a four-door hatchback in LS and LT models. The sedan body Daewoo Lacetti was available during 2004 and 2005 and was discontinued in 2006.


EUROPE

It was known as the Daewoo Nubira in Europe and was released there in 2003 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.


SECOND GENERATION DAEWOO LACETTI

The second generation Lacetti Daewoo is also known as the Lacetti Premiere in South Korea. It is developed on the GM Delta II platform and was sold in many markets as the Chevrolet Cruze.


The Chinese models had the new SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture known as Baojun 630 produced in China. It was released in 2011 at the Shanghai Auto Show.
