For each one of us, there is a manufacturer who is reliable and affordable and every time we need a car, something interesting appears in the brand’s collection. On the other hand, there is also a manufacturer for most of us who is our favorite, great in every way but hardly reliable. While most of you were reading the last sentence, “BMW” may start flashing on your mind. The European brand with all the great history in its design and technology in automobiles is undoubtedly an expensive brand. We all have a car from BMW’s collection that is our favorite but never comes within our budget no matter how much do we save.

However, when Japanese used car dealers bring an offer, it is always a good one. Various automobiles of BMW that have now entered the used car market are with tempting price tags. Officially BMW mini cooper specs and configurations were put under the category of hatchback. However, when we inspected the dimensions of the car, they seem to be too independent to match any class. Besides the looks there are several interesting technical aspects available in this model. Most popular models include bmw mini cooper 2014, 2011, 2010 2009, 2005 and 2003.

Trim

Two trims that were available in 2007 are two door hatchback and convertible two door power operated option. The base mini cooper is available has 15-inch wheels, air conditioning, tire pressure monitor, leather upholstery, steering wheel with tilt, power windows and CD compatible stereo. More can be added to the base and S trim like navigation system, seat heaters and else for an extra price.

Engine

The base mini cooper is available with 1.6L inline 4-cylinder engine with power performance of 115hp. The manual gearbox peaks transmission of 6-speed manual, whereas 6-speed automatic is also available as an option.

The power increases in the S version up to 172hp with its 1.6L turbocharged engine. The torque of the hatchback is rated as 191lb-ft. The gearbox options remain same as what is available with base model.

Safety Features

The mini cooper has enough safety specifications for a reasonable price. Tire pressure monitoring and anti-lock disc brakes may be the highlights. The traction control is available with the S version. For dynamic stability control you will have to switch to sports version which will come with other great accessories but for an extra price.

Interior

The interiors of the cabin have all good designing sense. The dashboard is dominated by a small but prominent speedometer. The control options are designed to form the mini’s logo. The climate control however is inconvenient due to switchgear’s odd position. Despite of good styling the materials are somewhat of lower quality which have never been a trend at BMW. The cabin has no great space aspect neither does the cargo space but the fun that driving option offers let you ignore that.

The neatest in this car are the mighty power options which efficiently cover up what is missing in the comfort and space of BMW mini cooper.
