The BMW Group has been producing the Mini Cooper in five different body styles and numerous special models. It is a modern remake of the classic Mini of Morris from the MG Rover Group, who made a splash the early 90s and a symbol of fun driving. Its unusual shape and the depth road holding stood in stark contrast to all the then-known car models.
BMW Mini Cooper Hatchback 2001 to 2006
BMW came up with several equipment versions and designs for the new Mini Cooper hatchback. In the UK, the actual concept was to build a small car at a low price, which requires little space. The new Mini Cooper hatchback, however, was intended as a lifestyle vehicle, has a go-kart like handling and should be very reliable. From the Toyota Yaris came the 75 hp diesel engine for the Mini One D. As petrol engines were available:
- A 90 horsepower engine for the Mini Cooper model - One
- A 115 hp engine for the Mini Cooper
- A 170hp supercharged engine for the Mini Cooper S
- All three petrol engines were from Tritec, a joint venture with Chrysler manufactured in Brazil.
The Differences Between the models of Hatchback
When Model One and One D, the roof was basically in the color of the car painted. The slats on the grille and exterior mirrors were black. The roof was painted either in the body color or contrast in black or white of the Mini Coophatchbackack. The grille was fully chromed. The Mini Cooper S on the other hand had a radiator grille, which was painted in the body color, had a separate air intake and dual-branch exhaust over a in the middle of the redesigned rear bumper. In 2004 there were an extensive facelift for the entire fleet. In addition, BMW started production of the Mini Cooper Convertible. The open version was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2004. The soft top was fully automatic, but could like a sunroof also be opened only partially. The tailgate could be like a pick-up fold downwards. The Cabrio there were in all three models, so as Mini One, Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S.
Various Features
It has many standard features including a highlight of the art was called the JCW kit, named after John Cooper, who has designed this package to improve performance. Thus, the Mini Cooper S was brought to a power output of 210 hp through a modified compressor. An additional flap on the air filter, which worked from a speed of 4,500 revolutions per minute, increased torque and a modified exhaust made for a more powerful engine sound.
