The BMW 5 Series Touring has extended the model program in 1991. Premiere celebrated the all-wheel drive in the BMW 5 Series Touring, which the manufacturer offered for the first time in its mid-range series.
Specification of Touring
The large combination of BMW was in the basic version with a 1.8 liter engine to get up to 83 kW (113 hp). The top of the line model used a V8 engine with a maximum of 210 kW (286 hp). The BMW 5 Series Touring brought more power to the M engine. The M5 Touring could mobilize up to 250 kW (340 hp). As a diesel, there was the BMW 5 Series Touring in this first construction phase with only a 2.5-liter unit, which provided up to 105 kW (143 hp).
The Later Generations of the BMW 5 Series Touring
The diesel engine was developed in the second generation of the BMW 5 Series Touring from 1997 to 2004, which was now available in three power levels from 136 hp to 193 hp. Top model was the combination conversion from Alpina, which was available as Alpina B10 or as Diesel Alpina D10.
A BMW M5 Touring was only available again in the successor generation, when the manufacturer presented a sports combi in 2007 with V10-aggregate and 373 kW (507 HP). The fourth generation of the BMW 5 Series Touring was introduced in the year 2010 in the first two petrol and two diesel versions.
Interior - Large luggage compartment
If you want to sit behind, the Touring model of the 5 Series is the right choice. Even large-sized persons find on the well-contoured rear seat an extensive range of space. Unlike in the sedan, people with a body height of 1.95 meters can just sit without hitting the head.
Also, the knees have air forward. Only the thigh support is a little too close. People with long legs miss here. In front, self-critical minds find nothing to complain about. Ergonomics, comfort, and space are at a top level.
Trunk Space
The trunk volume of the 5 series touring is quite enough, the load is given by BMW with a maximum of 730 kilograms. The top model M550d is also available in the interior as the M performance models the corresponding M ingredients.
Equipment
The optional panoramic glass roof has been enlarged. The electrical comfort seats can be adjusted by touch-sensitive sensors and master eight massage programs. The assistance systems are largely taken over directly from the luxury class, more precisely the current BMW 7 Series.
