The First Generation Toyota Vitz

 

The first generation Toyota Vitz had its production initiated in 1998. In Europe, it was available for sales after two months of its production named as the Toyota Yaris whereas in Australasia it was named as the Toyota Echo in 1999. It received the Car of the Year Japan Award after its release in 1998. Instead of the usual analog instruments, the Vitz used digital instruments. The restyling took place in 2003. In Japan, the first generation Vitz was released in 1999 and the Vitz RS was released in 2001. It was offered with a cassette player and a drivers airbag while the safety package is offered with anti-lock brakes (ABS) and a passenger airbag. In 2002, the power steering was included as a standard feature. In Australia, the XP10 series was released in 1999. It was available in both the three- and five-door hatchback variants. The Second Generation Of Toyota Vitz

 

Toyota restyled the Vitz in 2005 and was released in Puerto Rican, Canadian, European, Venezuelan, Australian and Mexican towards the end of the year.
It was sold as the “Yaris” North American and the Australian markets. The Yaris for the US market was released in 2006 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The XP90 series Yaris was developed in Japan, Thailand, and France.

 

Vitz RS

The Toyota Yaris RS was released in 2007 at the Geneva Motor Show. The features available on RS were mesh grille, redesigned tail lamps, a redesigned front and rear bumper and a tail spoiler. It was sold as the Yaris TS in European and North American markets.

 

The Third Generation Of Toyota Vitz

 

The 3rd generation Toyota Vitz also known as Toyota Yaris was released in 2010 with a Sportier look. The interior and front was restyled. Instead of using a pair of wipers, the new Vitz uses a single windshield wiper.

 

Japan

The XP130 model was available with nine airbags, two front seat cushion airbags, and a knee airbag for the driver and first and second row side-curtain airbags along with a driver and passenger airbags. It comes in F, U, Jewela and RS model. The offered engines range from 1.0 to 1.5-litres. For the one offered in automatic has a CVT transmission.

In South East Asian markets it was offered with a unique model different from the models offered in the Western markets.
