The term keitro refers to the kei class category of the vehicles. The car is an original make of the well known corporation Subaru. Initially the vehicle was targeted towards the Japanese market but later exported to the countries like china, Korea and Finland. The sambar models are available as both kei trucks and the micro vans, developed according to the taste, preferences and needs of the target market. The models are constructed under strict quality regulations and guidelines to stay ahead of the cut throat competition in the category.


The First Generation Versions from 1961 To 1966

The models launched in this era were the creative innovations of the designer shinroku momose. He possessed great expertise and far sightedness while constructing and formulating features. The three speed manual transmission of the cars was supported by the 1670 mm long wheelbase, 2990 mm length, 1300 mm width and 1520 mm height. The vehicles had an approximate weight of 395 to 470 kilograms for better functioning on the roads.


The Baban and Third Generation Models

The second generation, which was also known as the Baban era and the third generation, is marked conveniently from 1966 to 1982. A number of cars were launched in this era for the valued customers. The cars had undergone transformation and redesign to represent a fresh start and attraction for the new target market. The dimensions of the cars were slightly retouched and cars had 1750 mm long wheelbase, 2995 mm length, 1295 mm width and 1535 mm height. The weight increased and ranged from 465 kilograms to 535 kilograms. The sliding doors and enhanced exterior body stiffness led to the great appreciation by the customers across the globe.


Fourth and Fifth Generation

Fourth generation models of Subaru sambar witnessed launch from 1982 to 1990 and fifth generation car versions were introduced in the market from 1990 to 1998. The new in the fourth and fifth generation models was the independent suspension system, increased wheel size, dual range transmission, extended roof features, optional electric clutch system, better power generation, larger engine provision and increased dimensions in comparison to the earlier models. Other optional features added exclusively for customers feasibility and better ride experiences included supercharger, inter coolant, seating capacity for five individuals and special edition packages.

 

Sixth Generation till Present Times

The ever increasing demand for different Subaru sambar models did not let the production to be stopped or altered in all these years. The sixth generation versions were constructed with better options and specifications to stay relevant to the consumer needs. The seventh generation vans and trucks had engine fitted and positioned in the front to support better all wheel drive feasibility.
