The Subaru BRZ name is derived from the Boxer engine, Rear-wheel drive, and Z for the zenith. When compared with the 86’s, BRZ has a very different design. The BRZ has a different front outlook with a different grill and front fender vent. The BRZ has a grill that is hexagonal in shape while the daytime running lights are set into the bumper.
The Subaru releases an RA base model with many interior features not available. Other two models offered were R known as the Premium in North America and S model known as Limited in North America. The Japanese and the North American cars utilize a Subaru unit while the Australian and the European BRZs utilize the Toyota stereo unit.
THE SUBARU BRZ 2013
In 2013, Subaru released a BRZ tS model for sale in the Japanese market. The tS model has an enhanced suspension setup, STi bodykit, front spoiler and 18 inch silver BBS wheels, Brembo brakes and a larger drive shaft. New front seats, Alcantara accents and steering wheel are also included in the interior features. The tS GT Package has black BBS wheels, Recaro seats and an adjustable carbon fibre rear wing.
THE SUBARU BRZ 2014
In 2014, the Subaru BRZ brought new changes to the model by offering two new colors and a new key fob. Moreover Subaru also released special edition Subaru BRZ for Australian and the United States market. This model had red brake calipers, 17-inch STi black alloy wheels and STi body kit parts. The Australian market Subaru BRZ had 17-inch STi black alloy wheels, a push-button starter switch and stripes across the bonnet.
THE SUBARU BRZ 2015
The 2015 Subaru BRZ is categorized as a four-seat compact coupe offered in three different models: Premium, Limited and Series. The premium is offered with keyless entry, air-conditioning, LED running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control and full power accessories. Electronic features include a navigation system, satellite radio, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and a 6.1-inch touchscreen and many other features. The limited model is offered with dual-zone automatic climate control, a rear spoiler, fog lamps, keyless ignition and entry and leather upholstery including heated mirrors and heated front seats. The Series Blue is offered in only two colors blue or white.
It features all the limited features and red brake calipers, a black-and-blue interior scheme, interior accent stitching, black wheels and aero body styling tweaks. The BRZ has a gracefully styled cabin. Even the base model has Bluetooth phone, HD radio, audio connectivity and navigation. The front seats are very supportive but the back seats are not comfortable enough. The trunk room is considerably small. It is considered as an apt choice for the track excursions and therefore to make it safer and secure there is a DSC Sport mode enhancing the stability control. The cabin is so spacious that the front heighted drivers will be able to have a helmet on.
Standard safety features on the 2015 Subaru BRZ includes side curtain airbags, front side airbags, stability control, traction control and antilock brakes.
